i remember at this time, a year ago, the library would be filled with year 2s mugging hard for their A levels. They would stay till until the library closes and their seriousness was daunting to me, the year 1. Ever did i think about how lifeless my seniors were. I never liked staying back in school till so late, much less staying to MUG.Now that i look back at myself, i laugh. What i am doing now is exactly what my seniors did a year ago. and i actually enjoy it.
Haha. The irony.

step by step we all revive from our failures and are more determined to work harder. i knew my trust on 31 wasn't misplaced! =Di actually enjoy studying now, especially in a group. the company, the laughter, the randomness! i look forward to group studies every week, be it at BK or at the school library. x)
today we managed to persuade Wendy and Janice to go to Prom!! a lot of happenings took place in between, and all of it was penned down in my Book Of Randomness. Years down the road after we graduate, that book is gonna bring back a lot of memories. Lol.
Graduate. We're all going to end our JC journey. And to think we have to study throughout the whole journey! But then again, that's exactly what gels us together. i'm looking forward to Prom, graduation trip, after-A's celebrations... ET CETERA.
i just haven't had enough of 3106 yet!!

i got my papers back, one by one. Each and every time i got something back, the result never failed to demoralise me.
I thought I got over those horrendous marks.
Then, the overall JCT results came in. On 12th July.
i FAILED.
my first ever overall exam failure.
I expected it to be this way, but handling the truth is harder than expecting it. You thought you were all prepared to meet Failure, but when you finally do, all that preparation crumbles on top of you. I felt really heavy-hearted after i saw it. I thought i was gonna ruin Calesta's birthday celebration later in the day with my black sulking face. I wanted to cry, to release that burden, but no tears came.
A day later, I cast all those negativity away. Even mugged at BK with the girls. I was geared to battle Prelims. My energy level was soaring. Never again did i want to express regret over my marks.
YET TODAY,
ms quek returned us our result slips. mrs lim also came in to talk to us. our class was last in the level. we ranked last practically for almost every subject. some girls also broke down after looking at their results again.
i wanted to burn my result slip, without even taking a second glance at it. i had already moved on, preparing to face whats to come next. I didn't want to turn back and face those results. That's probably the reason why i was adverse to writing that reflection. penning reflections never worked for me.
'dont let it be a self-fulfilling prophecy'.
NEVER think again that you cannot do it. because if you keep believing that you cannot, then it always will be this way.
those were the words i was given. those words woke me up and helped me tide over the reality of my JCT results. i wholeheartedly believe we CAN come out tops. we just need that extra push.
some of our tutors may be mean; we may not like them. BUT FORGET NOT THOSE WHO HAVE PUT SO MUCH FAITH IN US. Ms Quek, Ms Ho, Ms Yee.
Lets clinch the most value-added class position for Prelims! Nothing is impossible! x))
Lets make those teachers proud of us like they have never been before.

Today at Mac's, there was a boy, about 7 years old, and his father who sat at the table adjacent to XM's and mine. I get distracted easily so when they sat down i turned from my notes to look at them. And it was then that i saw the little boy's face. He was munching on a french fry he had in his hand and with every bite, he smiled at his father. Though i only glanced at him for that 2 seconds, i registered his face into my mind almost immediately. His smile reflected the elation he had over his meal of nuggets, soft drink and french fries. When i turned away, i thought,"when was the last time i got so happy over something so simple?"
i couldn't remember.
Maturity seemed to have robbed us of the innocence we once had. Simple things no longer impress.
Then something else happened.
I had my left leg crossed over my right so it was sorta 'dangling' near the boy's table. There was a levelled partition separating the two tables so he didn't realise that what he was kicking at was actually my shoe. I shifted my leg away for a while but the discomfort made me shift it back. When he kicked again, i just turned to glance at him and he was looking back, with that huge lovely smile on his face. So, he now knew he was actually kicking at my shoe. I smiled back at him, as an indication that it was ok, and resumed studying. However, from the corner of my eye, i could see him peeping down below the table (most probably at my shoe) and he purposely gave another kick! Surprised, i looked up at him directly, only to see a playful grin spread across his lips and his big eyes looking up at me from his lowered head. I could only laugh at his cheekiness.
Indeed, kids are playful. And most of the time, they get away with doing the naughtiest things. I wondered, if the person that was kicking me unknowingly was a teenager or an adult, how would i have reacted? Would I have shot that grown-up a frowning stare? Would I have shifted my leg away without a word, or have made known that he or she was kicking at my shoe and making me particularly irritated?
Once we mature, people expect us to be responsible and that we should conduct ourselves properly. We are no longer forgiven easily for actions such as running crazily about, shouting or screaming at public places, or just being plain childish. Everything we do become bound by societal restrictions and stereotypes.
Come to think of now.. I dont want to grow up so fast anymore.
Being an adult is way harder than being a teen.

THIS IS SO BLOODY CRAPPY~~!!kenna the CURSE OF FRIDAY the 13TH. I sprained my ankle while walking down the stairs at the train station. OMG I CAN'T BELIEVE IT.
I was walking down the stairs while talking to Xin Mei. Was feeling chirpy and all for at least having mugged a bit today. Apparently i wasn't looking and in the flash of a second, i missed a step and was on my knees, eyeballs wide and wondering what the bloody hell happened. Frankly speaking, i wanted to laugh. HAHAHAHA! Cause i was telling XM about my mom and i mentioned something about the staircasee just before i fell, so she thought i was acting for her to see about what happened to mom, which so was NOT. O_O
Lol. Anyway, today was great. Went over to BK Simei to mug, together with YingQi, Xin Mei and Sin Yee. Welcome to join the Mugger Club dudes.
And yesterday at Pasta Mania and PS was fun too. To celebrate MOO MOO's birthday!! Though the movie was crap, i still enjoyed the day with them. Pasta rocks big time. =)

ok! gotta do math. work hard people!
Thursday, July 05, 2007 . 5:24 PM
got back results. unideal results. bio, math, chem. i flunked all 3. it was never like that in sec school, but i no longer see the point in comparing. truth is, my attitude changed.but now, we're facing our results as a class. no matter how bad it may be. A's are just 5 months away. Prelims 2 months. there's no time for reflection or wondering how much better you could have done if you just bothered to study that chapter. there's no time. the only thing to do right now is to start all over again. chapter one onwards. every subject. last year, after JCTs, we played all the way till promos. this year, we'll study all the way to promos.
its not impossible. i believe in the spirit of 31.

after one month of waking up late, slacking around the house and 4x the usual tv time, it's finally back to school again. i'm not lamenting about studies, just the waking-up-early part i cannot tolerate. every morning i wake up feeling like if i don't continue sleeping i'm just gonna faint walking to the toilet. haha. think i'll need a few weeks to conditon myself again. and for now, afternoon naps are mandatory.getting back results next week. not enthusiastic about math tutorial at all tmr. and how i wish i could go home normal time tmr. =( i need lots and lots of sleep.
"if you keep believing you cant do it, then you never will you be able to."
"It becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy"
Ms Quek said the latter today and somehow it struck a chord in me.
good, cause i really needed a wake-up call.
=)
